I grew up watching my mother navigate life with grace, even as she battled a chronic illness that went undiagnosed for too long. With lifelong management, my Mom managed to be productive, yet the disease still won. It took her life suddenly, one evening, as she bent down to smell a rose in her garden that she loved so much.
Health is a foundation for everything else: opportunity, dignity, and longevity. With my Mom, I was faced with the reality of what happens when that foundation is compromised, not by choice but by circumstances. Lack of awareness, resources, and timely intervention.
The pain of that memory lingers with me, growing as I watch others in my community face similar challenges—avoidable challenges. It is clear to me that the system isn’t just failing individuals; it fails entire families, communities, and generations. I have to act.
My co-founder, Dr. Greenspan, and I built FIHF from a simple yet profound belief: everyone deserves access to the knowledge, tools, and resources to live healthier, longer lives. Now, as I watch my children sleeping at night, I know how to support them. We have the science to naturally support my kids’ health—and the health of millions of children around the world, at an exceedingly low cost. Our goal is to increase nutrients in the foods we eat on a daily basis. We don’t want anyone else to endure what my family did, watching a loved one’s potential fade due to something preventable.
With FIHF, our goal is to connect the dots—bringing together growers and consumers, policymakers and scientists, individuals and communities. It’s about creating connections that lead to better outcomes for all. We don’t act alone because technology doesn’t solve problems. People solve problems. And we solve them most effectively when we work together.
We use evidence-based science to reduce chronic disease and support markets for healthier food.
A bold vision? Absolutely. And it’s within reach.
Our solutions are easily within our grasp yet offer far-reaching benefits.

Better Food for Better Lives
We envision a world that actively shapes a healthier future by supporting all communities’ access to more nutritious food. By fostering innovation, collaboration, and informed decision-making, stakeholders anticipate and respond to evolving food and health challenges by naturally improving the nutrients in plant and animal-based foods, and empowering communities to make healthier decisions.
Yet so much of today’s foods lack the nutrients we need, and some do more harm than good. This isn’t just a failure of the food industry—it’s a collective issue. Manufacturers produce what sells, and as consumers, we’ve accepted what’s easy instead of demanding what’s better. It’s time to shift demand towards crops and animals that are grown to be more nutritious and food that truly supports our well-being.
To enhance agriculture and food production’s critical role in community health, FIHF brings together researchers, policymakers, farmers, industry, and communities to naturally increase the nutrients in plant- and animal- based foods.
Advancing nutritional strategies that enhance well-being and reduce chronic disease.
Ensuring that healthier food innovations respect cultural and consumer preferences and preserve the cost of staple foods.
Bridging gaps between sectors to create lasting, scalable solutions that empower healthier choices.
FIHF facilitates neutral, evidence-based discussions among stakeholders, ensuring transparency and integrity in all initiatives.
We empower communities and industries to take charge of improving health through better nutrition, fostering a future where everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive.
