Brief Summary

CGF’s half-day roundtable event is an opportunity for scientists, CGF colleagues, students, and those involved in wheat production to meet to discuss plans to increase arabinoxylan (AX) levels in wheat, improving its nutritional value at a low-cost. Just one day before the Wheat Quality Council Annual Meeting, the conference will allow experts to discuss future research opportunities, strategize how to engage stakeholders, and organize the implementation of the new wheat production practices nationally.

Why this matters to FIHF

CGF’s effort to improve the nutritional value of wheat by increasing its fiber contents is integral to the Foundation for Innovation in Healthy Food’s (FIHF) mission. To make one small change in increasing wheat’s fiber contents, CGF and FIHF could improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of individuals, eradicating chronic illness and lowering healthcare costs. The heart of FIHF’s work is focused on improving the nutritional value of everyday foods at low cost in order to transform public health nationally and globally, making food both healthy and delicious.
